An international fugitive murder suspect is in custody after being apprehended by the Splendora Police Department. SPD reports that its Criminal Interdiction Unit in coordination with Federal Law Enforcement Partners apprehended the suspect who was wanted by Interpol on June 7, 2024.
The suspect had been illegally residing in the country and was known to travel between Splendora and his residence in Terrenos. Juan Jose Valero Cruz was taken into custody to face murder charges in Mexico.
Splendora Police says this will be the third time Cruz has been deported. Custody of Cruz was transferred to SPD’s federal partners without incident.
