Speedway Clerk arrested following racial slurs and shooting at victim

Santa Fe Police arrest Speedway Gas station clerk in shooting. The Santa Fe Police Department says it has arrested 33-year-old Diego Reyes-Andrade. Around 12:15 a.m. on September 8, officers responded to the Speedway at 5741 Airport Road about a shooting victim.

The victim reported that the clerk at the gas station made racial slurs against him and an altercation occurred outside. The victim said the clerk shot at his feet. The victim was not injured during the shooting.

33-year-old Reyes-Andrade was arrested. Officers found a firearm on the suspect as well as evidence of a shooting. SFPD says the suspect admitted to drinking alcohol.

Reyes-Andrade has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Carrying of a Deadly Weapon, and Negligent Use of a Deadly Weapon.
