Around 3:38 PM on Friday, December 15, 2023, emergency medical personnel responded to a call at Chickasaw Hall on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University for an unresponsive person. The individual was taken to Alliance Health Durant where they were pronounced deceased.

The university has confirmed that the individual was a current student at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The incident is still under investigation by the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Police Department and local authorities.

Officials say foul play is not suspected. The University asks for privacy for the student’s family at this time.
