The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 44-year-old man in connection to a Tuesday night homicide in Gold Bar. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in Gold Bar around 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Deputies found the victims fleeing from the scene on Old Owen Road in Monroe.
A 32-year-old woman was found deceased in the passenger seat with a single gunshot wound. The 29-year-old female driver was assaulted. The driver was treated at Evergreen Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Major Crimes Unit detectives learned that the victims and suspect had met at Big Eddy boat launch in Gold Bar.
Once there, a verbal altercation led to the suspect shooting the 32-year-old victim. The 29-year-old victim was pistol whipped. The victims fled westbound in a vehicle on SR2 before being located by deputies. The suspect fled the scene. On Wednesday around 1 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office Violent Offender Task Force found the suspect. The 44-year-old ran into the river but was apprehended near the Ben Howard boat launch in Monroe.
The suspect’s name has not been released at this time.
