The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a shooting of a 7-year-old girl that occurred earlier today. According to BPD, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Avenue around 1:39 p.m. on April 13, 2024. At the scene, officers found a 7-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim is in critical but stable condition, according to the Baltimore Police Department. BPD says the preliminary investigation determined that two groups had an altercation inside the mall.
An unidentified male suspect fired a shot as he was running away hitting the victim who was not the intended target. No additional details are available at this time.
