Update – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reports that the victim has been identified as 31-year-old Ta’Lesha Farmer of southeast Shelby County. SCSO detectives have classified this as a homicide investigation.

Original – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal shooting on Shadowland Cove. In a social media post, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the 7800 block of Shadowland Cove in southeast Shelby County for a shooting with injuries around 5:40 p.m.

SCSO says deputies reached the scene where they found an adult female unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Shelby County Fire reportedly responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Authorities confirm the investigation is ongoing. No other details are available at this time.
