The Seattle Police Department has announced it is investigating a fatal shooting in the University District on Monday evening. Just before 5 p.m., police responded to a report of a man short in the 4700 block of 15th Avenue Northeast. Upon arrival at an apartment complex, officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound.

The victim was deceased. Police say they identified and apprehended a suspect. Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.
