The Seattle Police Department has announced the arrest of a 14-year-old male for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Before 5 p.m., SPD officers were informed that a stolen vehicle was tracking near the intersection of 15th Avenue South and South Lander Street. As officers were responded to the location, dispatch advised that there was a disturbance involving the vehicle, friends of the owner, and multiple juvenile suspects.
At the scene, officers contacted the vehicle owner’s husband who had found the stolen vehicle and confronted the occupants. The husband informed officers that the driver crashed into another vehicle while trying to flee the scene. Following the crash, the husband fought with a passenger of the stolen vehicle.
The driver was able to get away. Officers found the stolen vehicle in a parking lot in the 300 block of East Olive Place. The driver was apprehended when he exited a bus. SPD said that the juvenile was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
