The Seattle Fire Department responded to a bus crash on Saturday. SFD reports that the Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls saying a bus had collided with a building at 5th Avenue and Terrace Street in Seattle just before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The dispatch was initially for a rescue extrication response. All passengers exited the bus without assistance from firefighters. The response was upgraded to a mass casualty incident to request additional units to help treat the high number of patients.
SFD says no fatalities resulted from the crash. 11 patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment. A 54-year-old male was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The remaining patients were all adults and all were in stable condition.
AMR, the Seattle Police Department, the King County Sheriff’s Office, and King County Metro also responded to the scene. Seattle City Light responded to deal with downed service lines. Law enforcement is investigating the crash.
