Seaford Police arrest suspect following domestic incident on Planters Drive

Update – Seaford Police have provided an update on the domestic incident that occurred in the 300 block of Planters Drive. The victim in the incident is currently in stable condition. The accused has been identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Powell of Seaford.

Powell is charged with Attempted Murder 1st and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. SPD says Powell also had an active warrant from the Delaware State Police Troop 4 for Breach of Release, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Contempt of a Domestic Violence Protective Order, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Reckless Endangering 2nd Degree.

 

Original – The Seaford Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to a domestic-related complaint on Planters Drive. SPD reports that it is investigating the incident that occurred around 5:45 p.m. on August 6, 2024 in the 300 block of Planters Drive.

SPD officers responded to a report of a physical domestic occurring at a residence at the aforementioned location. At the scene, responding officers found a victim outside the residence with multiple injuries.

It was determined that the suspect was still inside the residence. SPD, Delaware State Police, Laurel Police, Blades Police, and DNREC worked together to search the residence. The alleged suspect was found and taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to an area hospital via helicopter with serious injuries. No other details are available at this time.
