Scranton Police arrest suspect in March shooting incident outside Solstice Bar

Scranton, Pennsylvania – The Scranton Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a March shooting incident.

In a news release, SPD said that its officers responded to gunfire outside the Solstice Bar in the 100 block of West Market Street around 2 a.m. on March 3, 2025.

At the scene, officers found multiple vehicles with damage and multiple spent shell casings. It was determined that the shooter had fled.

SPD detectives say they identified and arrested 31-year-old Khalid Jamiar Jones for the shooting. Jones was taken into custody at a home without incident.

During a search of the residence, authorities say they located evidence, including two ghost guns and ammunition.

Jones is charged with two felony counts of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Additional firearms charges are forthcoming, according to SPD.
