Update – In a press conference, Assistant Chief Rich Slaven said that the Scottsdale Police Department received a call around 7:30 p.m. saying that an officer was in need of emergency assistance near 76^th Street and Greenway in North Scottsdale. The Scottsdale Fire Department transported the officer to an area hospital.

SPD says there are no ongoing threats to the community. The officer, Ryan So, succumbed to his injuries.
