The Scotland Neck Police Department has arrested a man after a missing female juvenile was found with injuries. SNPD reports that officers responded to East 13th Street in reference to a missing juvenile female.

At the scene, officers found that many members of the community were already searching for the missing child. The female was found coming from a small wooded area. Officers noted that the girl had physical signs of injury consistent with an assault.

Halifax DSS was notified and the juvenile was taken to the police department where she was evaluated by EMS. The girl’s father, David Johnson, was taken to the Magistrate’s Office where he was charged with Felony Intentional Child Abuse Resulting in Serious Injury.

Johnson is being held on a $50,000.
