The Santa Ana Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday morning. Around 12:28 a.m. on June 30, 2024, SAPD Communications received a report of a shooting in the area of Bristol Street and Memory Lane.

At the scene, responding officers located 20-year-old Fernando Manuel Lopez lying in the southbound lanes of Bristol Street. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Orange County Fire Authority pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. A motive has not been established for the shooting. Homicide Detectives are working to identify additional witnesses who may be able to provide information about the shooting.
