The Sansom Park Police Department is currently investigating a non-custodial kidnapping of a two-year-old girl. SPPD reports that its officers responded to Arrow Lane around 5 p.m. on August 1, 2024 about a possible non-custodial kidnapping.

At the scene, officers confirmed that it was a non-custodial kidnapping. SPPD is asking for the public’s help in locating the missing child who has been identified as Ava Green. She was last seen wearing turquoise shorts and a floral shirt.

SPPD alleges that the girl was forcibly taken by her grandmother, Lawanda Cain, who was driving a black BMW X1 with TX license plate “TYK 8553”. They may be in the company of four other black females.

SPPD says they could be heading to an address on Galleria Drive in Dallas, Texas. Anyone who sees the vehicle or child is asked to call 911.
