San Mateo Police Department responded to Mission Drive at 7:22 p.m. on December 19, 2023, to investigate a residential burglary. The victim watched the home burglary go down on live feed from a security camera. Two suspects could be seen ransacking the residence.

The suspects had left the victim’s residence before police arrived. Officers spotted the suspects jumping a fence in the 700 block of West Capistrano. A drone surveillance camera picked up the suspects in a yard behind a home.

Officers located one of the suspects hiding in a portable toilet. A second suspect was located in the yard behind the home. A third suspect was located hiding on the roof. All three suspects were arrested.

The stolen property recovered was valued at approximately $50,000.

The suspects have been identified as Santiago Hernandez-Garcia, Jhon Larotta-Vargas, and Jesus Velez-Hernandez.

All three suspects have been remanded to the San Mateo County Jail for two residential burglaries.
