San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office releases statement regarding Templeton deputy-involved shooting

Templeton, California – The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement regarding a deputy-involved shooting in Templeton on January 29, 2025.

According to SLOCSO, deputies responded to reports of shots heard in the area of Templeton High School in the 1200 block of South Main Street in Templeton.

The Sheriff’s Office said that a patrol unit reached the scene and the suspect fired shots that hit the unit multiple times.

The deputies were not injured. A second patrol unit arrived and a deputy in that unit engaged with the suspect. The Sheriff’s Office confirms that the suspect was struck by gunfire.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital where they remain in stable condition. The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.

Authorities say the incident is not believed to be related to the high school. No other details are available at this time.
