The San Jose Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Officers responded to the area of Calle De Guadalupe and Plaza De Guadalupe after receiving a report of a person shot. At the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Life-saving measures were taken before the victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the motive and circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. According to SJPD, this was the city’s 36th homicide of 2023.
