The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office looking for a suspect in a shooting on March 19. According to SJCSO, it received a call reporting a shooting involving family members in the 19000 block of North Jack Tone Road in Lockeford just before 9 p.m. on March 19. At the scene, responding deputies found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Deputies determined that the wound was caused by the victim’s stepson, 24-year-old Brendan Stiles Briggs, during a domestic incident. Briggs reportedly fled the scene and refused to meet with authorities. Briggs was wearing a red hoodie, black pants, and carrying a red Adidas backpack when he was last seen.
He may be riding a black and white Huffy bicycle. Briggs is wanted for attempted murder and gun charges as well as a no-bail warrant out of Merced County. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call the non-emergency line at 209-468-4400 option 1.
