The San Francisco Police Department has provided an update on the shooting of 49ers player Ricky Pearsall. SFPD reports that its officers responded to the area of Geary Street and Grant Avenue for a shooting around 3:37 p.m. on August 31, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found two male subjects suffering from injuries. Aid was rendered to both before they were transported to an area hospital for further medical evaluation.

SFPD says it was determined that one of the subjects had attempted to rob the victim, Pearsall. During the attempted robbery, a physical altercation took place and both subjects were injured.

The suspect is in custody and charges are pending. No other details are available at this time.
