San Francisco, California – The San Francisco Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Monday evening.
According to SFPD, officers responded to Turk Street and Mason Street for a shooting just before 5:30 p.m. on April 14, 2025.
At the scene, officers found a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
SFPD says its officers quickly took a suspect into custody. The Homicide Detail is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444.
Update – SFPD has announced an arrest in connection to the shooting incident at Turk Street and Mason Street.
According to SFPD, officers took a suspect into custody shortly after the homicide occurred.
23-year-old Lewis Jefferson Butler was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on charges of Homicide, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Battery on a Peace Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
Butler also had an outstanding warrant from Alameda County.
