On Sunday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced it was searching for an escaped inmate. SBSD reports that West Valley Detention Center deputies discovered that 29-year-old Deshaun Stamps had escaped custody during a recreation period around 12:19 p.m. on June 16.
Stamps had been in custody since January 30, 2023 on a charge of attempted murder. Authorities are currently searching for the inmate. SBSD describes Stamps as a black male around 5’11” tall and approximately 170 pounds.
Stamps is bald with tattoos on his neck and head. It is not known what he is wearing. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78CRIME.
