San Antonio Police arrest man for allegedly duping Tinder date and stealing funds from Cash App

The San Antonio Police Department has arrested a man for allegedly duping a victim he met on Tinder. According to the Fredericksburg Police Department, a complaint was received regarding a suspicious incident that occurred on December 26, 2023. The complainant reported that they had met a man on the dating app Tinder and believed the man’s name was Tim.

The complainant invited the man into their residence and agreed to be tied up by the man in question. At some point, the male subject reportedly asked to change the song playing on the victim’s cell phone. It is alleged that the suspect accessed the victim’s Cash App and transferred approximately $300 to their account. The victim managed to retrieve the money by making a Fraud Report with their insurance company.

A suspect was developed due to similar cases within the San Antonio and Bexar County areas, according to FPD. FPD detectives have been in contact with other agencies and sharing investigative leads. On April 10, 2024, Chong-Yun Mounce was arrested by the San Antonio Police Department Special Victim’s Unit.

Criminal charges will be pursued if it’s determined he was the individual in the victim’s home on December 26, 2023.
