Update – SLCPD reports that the first shooting investigation began at 11:40 p.m. on Friday when authorities received information about a shooting at 1045 East 2100 South. Police say one person was killed and another person suffered critical but stable injuries.

SLCPD says it is believed that the shooting stemmed from an earlier fight involving multiple people. The second shooting investigation began at 12 a.m. on Saturday when police received information about a shooting near 800 South Park Street.

Police say one person was killed in that shooting. SLCPD believes two people were outside when the shooting occurred.

One person was shot before collapsing and dying at the scene. The other person with the victim went inside the residence and has not come out.

Police say his involvement in the shooting is not known. Authorities confirm Homicide Detectives and PIOs are responding to both scenes.

Original – The Salt Lake City Police Department is currently investigating two shootings with two fatalities. SLCPD made the announcement on social media.

According to police, the first shooting occurred at 1045 East 2100 South and left one person deceased.

Police say a separate shooting occurred at 825 South Park Street and killed one person. At this time, police say the circumstances of the shootings are not known.

SLCPD reports that there is no information to suggest the shootings are connected. No one has been arrested at this time. SLCPD asks anyone with information to call 911.
