The Salt Lake City Police Department is searching for a shooting victim. According to SLCPD, the investigation started around 3:10 p.m. on April 14 when 911 received calls about a shooting near 200 East Kensington Avenue. At the scene, officers secured the area and began looking for victims, suspects, and evidence.
No victims were found at the scene although officers did locate a small amount of blood on the ground. SLCPD says a homeowner reported finding a firearm on her property near 1450 South Robert Street. Officers secured the gun before it was processed and collected by the Crime Lab Unit.
At some point, officers obtained information from someone claiming to be with the injured party. The victim allegedly suffered a graze wound and indicated that medical treatment was not required. SLCPD is asking the injured person or anyone with information to call them directly. Officers believe the shooting may have stemmed from a drug deal.
Anyone with information is asked to call 801-799-3000.
