The Salinas Police Department has identified a suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Christian Alvarez. SPD reports that officers responded to the 1500 block of Tuscany Way for a report of a shooting victim around 9:40 p.m. on June 26, 2021.

At the scene, officers found Alvarez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. During the investigation, detectives reportedly identified Cesar Alejandro Cisneros as a suspect in the fatal shooting.

A warrant has been obtained for Cisneros’s arrest in connection to this incident. Detectives believe the suspect may have fled to Mexico immediately after the shooting. SPD confirms the investigation is still active.
