The Ansonia Police Department has announced an arrest in the slaying of Abdul-Jalil Humphrey. According to a social media post from the Ansonia Police Department, 20-year-old Sahvone Valentine was arrested for his involvement in the homicide on July 14, 2023 on Hodge Avenue in Ansonia.

Valentine is facing charges of Murder, Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Criminal Possession of Firearm, and Theft of Firearm. According to authorities, Sahvone is being held on a $2 million bond.

A second suspect, 17-year-old Jada Artis, was arrested on November 3, 2023. Artis was charged with Murder, Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and Hindering Prosecution.
