The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has announced that an arrest has been made in a shooting on Greenback Lane on November 28, 2023. Deputies responded to the Folsom Gateway Apartments on Greenback Lane in reference to a shooting just after 8 AM on November 28, 2023.

At the scene, authorities learned that an adult male gunshot victim had driven himself to a nearby fire station where he was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Deputies learned that the suspect fled before they arrived.

Sheriff’s Office detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. Detectives say they learned that the victim came to the apartment to meet the occupants and purchase fentanyl. The victim was allegedly invited inside the apartment before attempting to take fentanyl without paying for it.

As the victim drove away, the suspect reportedly fired a handgun into the rear window of the victim’s vehicle. The victim was struck at least once in the upper right arm. Although the victim sustained serious injuries due to the bullet wound, he survived the injuries. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Detectives identified the suspect of the shooting as Donovan Mullen of Sacramento.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mullen. On the evening of December 3, Mullen turned himself in at the Sacramento County Main Jail.
