Sacramento Police shoot felony warrant suspect hiding on top of RV

The Sacramento Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Saturday evening. SPD reports that its officers witnessed a suspicious vehicle with a suspended registration in the area of Beloit Drive and Bell Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on September 14.

Authorities say an individual believed to be associated with the vehicle abandoned it before officers contacted him. The individual was reportedly found hiding on the roof of an RV nearby.

When officers verbally contacted the individual, they allegedly jumped from the RV and attempted to flee. Officers tried to detain the individual before an officer-involved shooting occurred.

Aid was rendered. The individual was taken to an area hospital and he currently in stable condition. SPD says an officer sustained minor injuries. The suspect is in custody on an outstanding felony no-bail warrant for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
