The Sacramento Police Department has announced that it is investigating a homicide on Riverside Boulevard. Patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 6100 block of Riverside Boulevard just before 1 PM on December 7, 2023. While traveling to the scene, officers were informed that the victim was transported to a local hospital by a vehicle on the scene.

Officers arrived and secured the scene. A 21-year-old male was later found at the hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was later pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to assume control of the investigation. Authorities say they processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. At this time, the circumstances remain under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after the next of kin have been notified.
