Sacramento Man In Custody After Fatal Shooting In North Highlands

A 30-year-old man is facing murder charges after fatally shooting a 33-year-old male. Jarrell Triplett was remanded to the Sacramento County Main Jail on a no-bond status.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Georgia Drive on December 13, 2023, around 1:15 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a gathering of 30 people at the residence. Witnesses told deputies that a man suffering a gunshot injury was taken to an area hospital by friends or family.

Following the preliminary evidence, detectives determined Triplett and the mother of his child were in a verbal altercation over custody arrangements. At some point during the altercation, Triplett shot the male victim. Triplett fled the scene before officers arrived.

Detective apprehended Jarrell Triplett at about 10:00 a.m. on December 14, 2023. Triplett has a court date scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on December 18, 2023.
