Sacramento County, California – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says the homicide on Sutterwoods Way has been deemed a murder-suicide.
According to a SCSO statement, East Division Patrol Deputies responded to a call for service around 11 a.m. on January 27, 2025.
The Sheriff’s Office said that the reporting party advised that he arrived at the residence to check on the welfare of a friend, 33-year-old Jesse Janda, who had not shown up for golf the day before.
At the scene, deputies found two adults males deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. SCSO Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene.
Detectives say they found two expended shell casings next to Janda who was still holding a handgun underneath his body.
Detectives believe this was a murder-suicide at Janda’s hand. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
