A suspect has been arrested in a shots fired incident at the Pine Knoll mobile home park in Forest City, North Carolina. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to the mobile home park off Hudlow Road around 8:20 p.m. on June 28, 2024.
The victim said an upset neighbor, Carlos Hernandez-Gutierrez, had fired multiple rounds from a handgun outside the victim’s residence. The dispatcher heard the shots being fired in the background.
Deputies found a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle parked outside a mobile home on Brookside Drive. The vehicle was not occupied. Hernandez-Gutierrez was eventually located at a neighboring mobile home and taken into custody without incident.
RCSO says a 9mm semi-automatic pistol was located after a search warrant was obtained for the property and the vehicle of the suspect. RCSO explains that Hernandez-Gutierrez had been using an illegally obtained social security number during his time in the United States.
The suspect is charged with Going Armed to the Terror of Public, Disorderly Conduct, Communicating Threats, Identity Theft, and three counts of Alter Title.
