The Rowlett Police Department has provided an update on Thursday night’s shooting in the Waterview area. RPD says its officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting near the 9100 block of Waterview Parkway.

Police say a large group of individuals had been involved in a physical altercation. At some point during that altercation, police say a 16-year-old girl suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition, according to RPD. Authorities also say that two individuals were detained and found to be in possession of firearms.

A juvenile and a 17-year-old male have been charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. No other details are available at this time.
