Update 5 – Round Rock Police secure additional warrants for 18-year-old Keshawn Dixon in fatal shooting during the Juneteenth celebration at Old Settlers Park. RRPD reports that Dixon is facing two counts of Murder and 13 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Dixon remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail.
Update 4 – Round Rock Police have arrested a second suspect in connection to the Juneteenth celebration shooting on June 15. RRPD says a male juvenile suspect was arrested around 8:30 p.m. on June 21, 2024.
The juvenile was transported to the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center. RRPD confirms it is investigating additional suspects.
Update 3 – Round Rock Police confirm that a suspect is in custody. Around 7:30 a.m. on June 20, members of the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force arrested 17-year-old Ricky Thompson III in Pflugerville.
Thompson is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon with more charges being possible.

Update 2 – The Round Rock Police Department has confirmed that 14 victims were transported to local hospitals with gunshot wounds. Two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The shooting occurred during the annual Juneteenth celebration at Old Settler’s Park.
RRPD is searching for a suspect in connection to the shooting. RRPD describes the suspect as a black male with a thin build. He is roughly 5 feet 7 inches tall with short dreadlocks. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a white hoodie. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mario at 512-341-3135.
The ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in this incident.

Update – The Round Rock Police Department says it’s investigating a shooting on Saturday night during a Juneteenth celebration at Old Settler’s Park at 1371 Harrell Parkway. RRPD says two people are dead and others have been injured as a result.
Around 10:50 p.m., an altercation between two groups led to a shooting, according to Police Chief Allen Banks. Two people succumbed to their injuries. Multiple bystanders were injured.
Chief Banks explained that the victims were not part of the altercation. The individuals directly involved in the incident fled immediately following the shooting. No suspects are in custody.

RRPD asks locals to avoid the area until the matter can be resolved. Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the shooting at 1367 Harrell Parkway near Old Settler’s Park. ATCEM responded to a report of a shooting with multiple patients with five ambulances, one district commander, and one division chief.
ATCEMS reports that six patients were transported to local hospitals. All patients are suffering potentially serious injuries. The patients include four adults and two children. No other details are available.
