Rolla Police arrest suspect for shooting and robbery at Sinks Pharmacy

The Rolla Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection to an assault incident at the Sinks Pharmacy on 10th Street. RPD reports that officers responded to the pharmacy at 1375 East 10th Street around 10:17 a.m. on June 19, 2024 for an active shooter report.

The initial report suggested that a man entered the pharmacy armed with a rifle, demanded narcotics, and shot an employee. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of narcotics.

Officers received information that the suspect had fled the scene in a black passenger car. The vehicle was spotted traveling east on 10th Street at a high rate of speed. Following a pursuit, officers managed to stop the vehicle using a forcible stopping technique.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The 52-year-old Rolla victim was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 41-year-old Justin M. Wonsewitz was arrested for 1st Degree Assault, 1st Degree Robbery, and Armed Criminal Action.

RPD says additional charges will be considered at a later date.
