Rocky Mount, North Carolina – The Rocky Mount Police Department is currently investigating an incident that left a man with serious injuries.

According to RMPD, staff at Nash/UNC Hospital contacted police to report that an older white male had been dropped off at the entrance with severe injuries around 10:01 a.m. on December 31.

Authorities say the person who dropped the man off left the hospital and did not provide any identifying information. RMPD has identified the victim as 61-year-old Stanley Deese of Rocky Mount.

Due to Deese’s injuries, he was transported to ECU Medical Center in Greenville. The victim remains in critical condition. No other details are available at this time.
