Robert Horning arrested in connection to brother’s murder at Horning’s Hideout on January 2

A man is behind bars in connection to a murder that occurred on January 2, 2024 at Horning’s Hideout. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies responded to reports of a shooting at Horning’s Hideout at 21277 Northwest Brunswick Canyon Road around 9:35 a.m. on January 2, 2024.

At the scene, deputies found a deceased male victim. An adult male was detained. The victim was later identified as 47-year-old Carl Horning who died of multiple gunshot wounds. 63-year-old Robert Horning was present and was detained by arriving deputies, according to WCSO.

WCSO explains that Robert and Carl were brothers. On July 29, 2024, WCSO announced that a Washington County Grand Jury indicted Robert Horning for the murder of his brother. Robert was taken into custody by members of the Tactical Negotiations Team without incident.

He was booked into the Washington County Jail for Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
