The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is investigating after shots were fired inside a retailer in the city. Around 7 p.m. on March 2, 2024, a male subject allegedly fired a shot inside a large retailer off Premier Boulevard.

RRPD officers responded and tracked down the man with help from customers inside the store. RRPD said the man was found hiding in the bathroom of a nearby restaurant. He was taken into custody and the firearm has been recovered. No injuries were reported in connection to this incident.
