The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a homicide on September 3. Around 12:03 a.m. on September 3, 2024, deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 2900 block of Rubidoux Boulevard.

At the scene, responding deputies found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical aid was provided. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

RCSO’s Central Homicide Unit responded to assume control of the investigation. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Avelino Recardo Sanchez. No other details are available at this time.
