A 48-year-old man is behind bars following the death of his stepfather. The Houston Police Department reports officers responded to an apartment complex at 4118 Sherwood Lane around 5:45 a.m. on June 16, 2024.

At the scene, officers found a man unresponsive inside his apartment. The victim suffered blunt force trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene. HPD claims that the victim’s stepson, 48-year-old Ricky Ray Allen, confessed to his role in the homicide.

Allen was booked into the Harris County Jail on murder. The victim is described as a 72-year-old man.
