The Richmond Police Department is investigating two shooting incidents in two days. RPD reports that its officers responded to the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported shooting around 4:15 p.m. on June 18, 2024. At the scene, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other victims arrived at the hospital for treatment. One of those victims passed away as well. The two other victims are reportedly in stable condition and are expected to survive.

Around 12:42 a.m. on June 19, 2024, RPD officers responded to a second shooting in the 1300 block of Kelsey Street. At the scene, officers found a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene. RPD says it has increased the number of officers on patrol and will be conducting high-visibility patrols in response to the shooting. Homicide Detectives are investigating the shootings.
