A 56-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 53-year-old male suffered head trauma during an altercation in the 1000 block of East Main Street on December 9, 2023. The gunshot victim has been identified as Leslie James Blume Jr. and the head trauma victim as Raymond Blume.

Richmond Police Department was dispatched to the above area to investigate a report of a double shooting. Officers rendered first aid to both male victims. Several witnesses remained at the scene. Responding medics transported the victims to Reid Health for treatment.

Detectives with the Richmond Police Department assumed the investigation. It was determined that Raymond was struck in the head and Leslie James was shot in the stomach during a verbal altercation that turned physical.

The medical Staff at Reid Health reported that Raymond’s head injury was unrelated to a shooting.
