The Rapid City Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on Candlewood Place. Around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Candlewood Place for a report of a gunshot heard in the area. At the scene, responding officers found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound.

It was determined that the male victim was deceased. RCPD confirmed it has a number of units in the area. The investigation will be carried out jointly by the RCPD and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office. No other details are available at this time.
