The Rapid City Police Department has announced an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred in the area of Pine Street and East North Street. According to RCPD, 23-year-old Ezekiel Mayweather was located and brought to the Criminal Investigation Division to speak to detectives working on the case. He was subsequently taken into custody for his involvement as an accomplice in the homicide.

Mayweather is facing a charge of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony/First Degree Murder. RCPD detectives and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office investigators are attempting to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in this homicide. Just before 7 p.m. on February 21, officers responded to the area of Pine Street and East North Street for a report of a gunshot heard in the area.

On the way to the scene, police received information that a female had been shot at the location. At the scene, a female with critical injuries was located. The victim, 25-year-old Esther Wolfe, succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital.
