Puyallup Police Department investigating homicide on 10th Avenue NW

The Puyallup Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday night. Around 8:51 p.m. on February 25, 2024, PPD officers responded to a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 1500 block of 10th Avenue Northwest in Puyallup.

At the scene, officers found spent shell cartridges in the street but no victims or property damage. Around 9:04 p.m., a 22-year-old Kingston, Washington woman was brought into the Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s hospital in Tacoma. With help from the Tacoma Police Department, it was determined that the victim was related to the incident on 10th Avenue NW.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and passed away at the hospital. ISU detectives say that the victim had been a passenger in a black SUV at the time of the shooting. The occupants of the vehicle had a confrontation with several other subjects in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue Northwest when shots were fired and the victim was struck.
