The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of raping a 5-year-old child he was babysitting. PCSO says it was notified by a school counselor of an alleged rape of a child that occurred roughly five years ago on December 5, 2023.

On December 8, PCSO deputies initiated an investigation. Detectives say they discovered that Raul Baltazar Sebastian Pascual was babysitting a child around five years of age when he undressed and raped the child on the couch in the living room.

On June 26, 2024, Pascual allegedly admitted to investigators that the incident occurred. Pascual was a minor at the time and will be charged in Juvenile Court. A transfer hearing will likely take place to determine if the case can be moved to a Criminal Court.

On June 26, Pascual was arrested and charged with Aggravated Rape of a Child.
