Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrests Elijah Meek and 17-year-old in shooting at local trailer park

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in connection to a shooting at a local trailer park. PCSO reports that deputies responded to a shooting at a trailer park on September 21, 2024.

Detectives reportedly identified multiple suspects residing in Putnam County.

On September 24, detectives interviewed a witness who reportedly confirmed the involvement of two shooters. A search warrant was carried out at a residence on Anderson Lane.

At that time, Elijah Meek was arrested and the firearm used in the shooting was reportedly recovered. PCSO says a 17-year-old suspect was located and arrested at a residence in Cookeville.

Another firearm, which was allegedly stolen from Sparta, was recovered. Meek has been charged with Criminal Conspiracy of Attempted First Degree Murder and Reckless Endangerment.

The 17-year-old suspect is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Reckless Endangerment. Meek is being held at the Jackson County Jail. The 17-year-old is being held at the Putnam County Juvenile Detention Center.
