The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrests of 30-year-old Caylen Deller and 56-year-old Tina Marie Lee-Ellis in connection to the murder of Chad Mullen. Police say Lee-Ellis turned herself in yesterday evening.
She was arrested and charged with Accessory to First-Degree Murder After the Fact. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Deller who is charged with First-Degree Premeditated Murder with a Firearm.
PCSO says it was determined that Deller and Mullen had a volatile on-again off-again relationship. Family members reportedly told police that the pair were no longer dating during Mullen’s reported disappearance.
Mullen was reported missing on September 15 after his family had not heard from him in a week. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Stormy Stables in San Mateo on September. PCSO says the business is owned by Deller and was the last known location Mullen’s phone pings.
On October 28, police received a tip that led to the discovery of Mullen’s body at an abandoned property at 852 Federal Point Road in Hastings. During a search of Ellis’s residence at 131 Pine Street in Satsuma, police allegedly found firearms, ammunition, and methamphetamine.
Lee-Ellis was arrested later and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Methamphetamine. PCSO says it is not known how long the women knew each other or what their relationship was.
