The Pueblo Police Department was involved in a fatal officer-involved shooting on Wednesday evening. PPD reports that it received a call of a man with a weapon in the 1400 block of West Highway 50 around 7:45 p.m. on June 19, 2024.

PPD officers found the suspect vehicle at a business in the 1500 block of West Highway 50. Officers contacted the suspect in the vehicle. PPD claims the suspect ignored commands to show his hands.

The preliminary information indicated that the suspect began shooting at officers who returned fire hitting the suspect, according to PPD. The suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No officers were injured.
